Inspection preparation checklist
Conditions
can exist which make it impossible for us to check certain areas
or systems in the house. If this happens, you may have to schedule
a follow up inspection of the property, which mat incur an additional
fee. Since it is to your advantage financially to have all aspects
of the house inspected in one visit, we suggest that you use the following
checklist, to assure accessibility.
-
Is the house gas turned on?
-
Is the
house electric service turned on?
-
Is the house water service turned
on?
-
Is the electrical panel box unlocked?
-
Is the electrical panel box
accessible to the inspector?
-
Is the attic access accessible to the
inspector?
-
If the house has a subfloor area, is the access opening
accessible to the inspector?
-
Is the heating system accessible to the
inspector?
-
Is the pilot light to the furnace lit?
-
Is the cooling system
accessible to the inspector?
-
Is the water heater accessible to the
inspector?
-
If gas operated, is the water heater pilot light lit?
-
Are
dogs or other family pets secured?
-
Is the security system turned off?
If
you can make the systems in the home easily accessible, you can save
the inspector aggravation, get a more thorough inspection report,
and maybe save yourself some money as well.
